Egg Drop on New Year's Eve - Dec. 31, 2019

A Child's New Year Celebration

The first annual egg drop was a great success! Over 36 visitors arrived between 11 AM and 12:00 noon to tour the museum and participate in the egg drop.

The children placed their pre-packaged raw eggs on a table set up in the Veterans' Memorial Room. Will the eggs survive the drop from the second floor of the museum?

Ten seconds before noon, the countdown began. Debbie popped one balloon for each second. Then the families went outdoors and Zach, a museum volunteer, dropped each package, one at a time, from the upstair's window.

After the drop, the families enjoyed some hot cocoa and fortune cookies in the warmth of the museum's research room.

Volunteers for the day were Debbie Albert, Arlene Steenwyk, Audrey Rojo and Zach. Thank you all for making this a successful event!
