Historic New Groningen Schoolhouse

The New Groningen Schoolhouse dates back to 1881 when it served as a rural school for children in the Zeeland/Holland area. In 1951 the local school district sold the Schoolhouse, and it remained a residential duplex until 2005. At that time, it was purchased by the Zeeland Historical Society for restoration. 

The Grand Reopening of the New Groningen Schoolhouse was held on December 15, 2011.

The Historic New Groningen Schoolhouse is ready to host your next event. The two-room schoolhouse offers a historic, storied atmosphere with modern amenities. We are here for family gatherings, concerts, business meetings, showers, graduations, small weddings and much more.

When you rent the schoolhouse, you have access to the whole property including the Historic Schoolroom, All Purpose Room, lawn space, fully functional kitchen and bathroom facilities.
