"Miffy and De Stijl": June through September 2021

Miffy returns to the Dekker Huis Museum from June 2021 through September 2021.

This exhibit features the Dutch children’s book character, Miffy, who was created by author and illustrator Dick Bruna in 1955 and relates her to the De Stijl art movement that was founded in the Netherlands in 1917. With this exhibit, the museum brings an important part of Dutch cultural heritage to Zeeland, Michigan.

Come see our display of Miffy objects and art, as well as a De Stijl chair made by Dutch designer Gerrit Rietveld and a model of his famed De Stijl architecture of the Rietveld Schroder house.

In the Church Room, discover churches here in Zeeland that borrowed elements of the De Stijl movement and incorporated them into their design.

Kids will receive their own brochure for the exhibit, inviting them to explore throughout the museum, learn Dutch with Miffy, practice counting, and more!

The Miffy and De Stijl exhibit offers something for all ages.
